The site provides a listing for inventors who want to be seen by the public, business contacts, and other inventors. The grass root effort at www.InventorUnderground.com connects to web sites created by the individual inventors. It also links to an online “journal” called IU Blog – a discussion group for inventors who auditioned for the show.

Several inventors listed at the site qualified for the show’s "Second Audition". This round of eliminations was controversial because emotions ran so high during the judging.

The show premiers March 16th, and is similar to FOX’s “American Idol”. It is produced by Simon Cowell and Freemantle Media. According to Mr. Cowell, 10,000 inventors across the United States auditioned for his show, yet only 9 inventors will make it into the final competition.
