THE A&E NETWORK REAL-LIFE SERIES
KING
OF CARS
RETURNS FOR A SECOND SEASON
TUESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2007
NEW YORK, NY, JANUARY 18, 2007 --
KING OF
CARS
returns hotter than ever, with faster rides, more rollercoaster wheeling and
dealing, and even crazier costumed characters. The second season of the
series, which is set in a Las Vegas based dealership run by a hip-hopping car
dynasty magnate named Chop, premieres on Tuesday, January 30th
in a new timeslot at 11pm EST/PST.
Life
at Towbin Dodge heats up as Chop drives his sales force to stay number one and
build his car dynasty. This season he
brings the customers into the fun with an Ugly
Truckling contest, and creates the first ever King of Cars calendar. Chop
motivates his sales teams with even more intense competitions - at stake for the winners are big cash
prizes, or a promotion that hinges on a game of Hoops - but for the losers its
all about pride, whether it’s having to wash cars, shave their head’s or in the
case of some, model in their Speedos.
New characters
this season include a sassy saleswoman named Sunny who keeps everyone on their
toes; tough guys El Supa and Big Thunda
who fight their way up the sales-food chain, and the gun-slinging Auto Marshal
from Texas
who challenges the Blue Genie’s position as mascot.
This
season also finds us getting more intimate with Chop as he reveals his personal
collection of customized rides on a photo shoot for Dub magazine, and there are
even more hot cars for the King of Cars – as Chop buys whips customized for the
likes of Snoop and Missy Elliott. We
also see Chop celebrate his birthday with the biggest hopping car contest ever,
while his fiancée Venus plans a super surprise bash behind his back. And beyond the dealership, Chop lives out his
other great passion – hip-hop and rap - as he takes us into the studio to lay
down new tracks with his own group Tru Cents and special guests like Sonny from
the rock group POD.
Robert Sharenow and Colleen Conway are the A&E Executive
Producers. KING OF CARS is produced for A&E Network by
Hybrid Films. Daniel Elias and David Houts are the executive producers. Chop serves as executive producer for Tru
